FAQ

Is Reiki Religious?

No, with Reiki the focus is on healing and well-being: its primary aim is to promote stress reduction, relaxation, and physical/emotional healing through the concept of "life force energy. It can enhance one's existing spiritual path, and I meet people where they are at, and respect their beliefs and values.

What is a typical Reiki session like with Jacqueline?

A typical session is 60 minutes.  The welcome part of the session is a conversation focused on checking in with my client.  If we are in-person, then we will move to the massage table (in my space) or, to a comfortable private place where we will not be disturbed.  If I am visiting a client in their home, we need a quiet, private space where we can both be comfortable.  I may have my hands on the client but it is not necessary to receive the full benefit of the energy.  When our time together is coming to a close, I focus on helping the client get grounded. We discuss their experience and they usually leave in an uplifted state.

What will I feel during a Reiki session?

Experiences vary widely. Many people report feeling deep relaxation, calm, or peace. Some may feel physical sensations such as warmth, coolness, tingling, pulsing, or lightness/heaviness in certain areas. Others might see colors, experience emotional releases, or even fall asleep. It's also common to feel nothing at all consciously during a session but still experience benefits afterward. It is up to the client how often they want to receive Reiki.

Do I need to believe in Reiki for it to work?

The effectiveness of Reiki does not depend on your belief in it. Reiki is often said to work on unconscious patients, babies, and animals, who have no conscious belief or understanding of it. While having an open mind and positive intention can enhance the experience, the energy is believed to flow regardless of skepticism.  Some of my clients have technicolour experiences and others fall asleep, all is good.
